I just finished my doctorate in physics education, focusing on productive approaches to learning physics, and more generally science and mathematics. I am looking to work with a couple of students apart from my post-doctoral work. I have taught courses in classical mechanics and conducted research in quantum mechanics My general view of education: "Regard man as a mine rich in gems of inestimable value. Education can, alone, cause it to reveal its treasures, and enable mankind to benefit therefrom." I believe that each person has been created noble, with gifts and talents to be cultivated. Under the right instruction, each person can appreciate and advance in their understanding of science and mathematics, and I try to create that kind of safe and rich learning environment for my students.
