Private tutor in Cambridge, MA
Harvard PhD, Linguistics, 2010 Harvard BA, Linguistics, 2001 Yale MAR, Hebrew Bible, 2012
I have 10 years of experience teaching language and linguistics, in many different settings, including: teaching Chinese at UMass Lowell, leading advanced linguistics seminars at Harvard, and tutoring students one-on-one in multiple subjects, such as writing and history. I love to interact with students one-on-one, because I see each student as a unique individual, with his or her own dreams and goals. For this reason, I am a dedicated and patient teacher, willing to put in the time and effort required to help students achieve their goals, and, through their studies, see the world around them in a new way.

I am passionate about music — primarily playing and listening to classical music. I play the piano and learned the violin in order to play in orchestra in high school. I was also a classical radio DJ in college. I am also very active at my church, where I volunteer in college ministry, teaching Bible studies and counseling students. I believe my religion makes me a more patient and compassionate teacher. If I happen to have some extra free time, I might be found experimenting in the kitchen, or (as a guilty pleasure) watching formulaic crime procedurals on TV.
