Experience

I started tutoring professionally at the Learning Den, where I studied as an undergraduate at Johns Hopkins University. Here, I hosted weekly lectures in various subjects. I taught math, chemistry, engineering physics, and biological sciences. Encountering a variety of students with different ways of learning, I learned how to adapt to each. I became familiar with audio, visual, and interactive styles of teaching among others. Every student incorporates material in their own way so I strive to effectively teach by letting one learn using whatever method is most conducive to their growth. I'm now a graduate student at MIT. I started tutoring as a freshman after great experiences learning in high school. A social learner, I personally learn best when talking, in a group, or wrestling with concepts verbally. It's a sure sign I've mastered something when I can coherently express myself. That's just me but I know you may learn in an entirely different way.My favorite subjects to teach are math, physics, chemistry, coding, and biology. There are so many ways to get an answer to a question or problem. Problem solving to me is creative, but I also like drawing, painting, visual arts, and reading graphic novels.
