Experience

I taught at a public school in Singapore for 4 months. I have been tutoring part-time throughout high school, and prefer to teach students over an extended period of time to maximize learning. My SAT subject scores attained an average of 780, and all 3 sections of my GRE score were in the 90th percentile (98th percentile for writing). I majored in economics and politics as an undergraduate, which further polished my skills in writing and math, so no worries about rust when it comes to tutoring! I published a self-help book on how to do well in school, and have been invited to speak at several schools and public venues in Singapore. I aspire to be a public servant in the future and have some experience working with government agencies to strategically plan national policies.

Hobbies

I enjoy reading and traveling. This made NYU a good fit for me as it gave me the opportunity to travel around the world to study different cultures. When I'm not in school, I play the double bass with community orchestras. Nothings beats winding down to some classical and jazz music after a hectic day at work!
