Amanda T.
Private tutor in Cambridge, MA
Education
Smith College, BA in Biochemistry with High Honors. Undergraduate thesis in Molecular Genetics.
Experience
7 Years of experience tutoring. 38 on the MCAT (Jan. 2015) = 99.2 Percentile Think you forgot the MCAT material? Did your undergrad Orgo professor completely confuse you? Still wondering what the difference is between cathodes and anodes on electrolytic vs. galvanic cells? When studying for the MCAT, it had been over 10 years since I saw the material! I took APs in high school, as well as a semester of Orgo. If I can dust off 10 years of cobwebs, I can definitely help you freshen up and conquer this test! I had to be smart about my prep, diagnose my weaknesses, and relearn material strategically - I can help you do the same! Former research assistant at MIT and MGH in Biochemistry. Current student of political philosophy and bioethics. And yes, there are a few good stories behind that transition!

Hobbies
I was a 3 season athlete throughout college and still compete in Masters' Rowing on the Charles. But I was also on student government and a total lab rat, so if you're a nerd-jock or competitive nerd, we'll be a great fit! I also have an active interest in bioethics and social justice. I volunteer with several organizations in the Cambridge area, so if you are a student from a historically marginalized population or have health or identity concerns, please know I am happy and eager to create safe spaces for you! Consider me your ally in more than just test prep ;)
