I'm a Harvard College grad who spent a year teaching in Taiwan under a Fulbright scholarship. I then did a post-bac in 2012-2014 at the Harvard Extension School (completing all 8 semesters of required pre-med science classes, earning A or A- in all semesters), and took the January 2014 MCAT with a score of 37 (13PS, 11BS, 13VR). I will be attending UPenn medical school in August. I've had 5 years of class teaching experience in English as a second language, and have had one-on-one tutoring experience in English and Math. I hope to draw on my knowledge of the pre-med level science classes (physics, orgo, chem, bio) to tutor pre-meds for these subjects or the MCAT and help develop the best tips and tricks to do well. I particularly focus on personalizing tutoring so that each person identifies the best strategy that works to get a good grade in the class as well as a good long-term understanding of the material. As someone who had a mediocre GPA before taking my post-bac science classes, I can speak to the best strategies of turning around your science GPA.
