Experience
My teaching philosophy is based on creating engaging lessons, because I believe that is how a lasting impression is made on students. My passion for teaching stems from my desire to help students learn critical thinking, reading, and writing, so that they can be successful in life. I have vast knowledge in these areas, and I am just as comfortable helping a student to learn basic literacy as I am when helping a graduate student perfect their essay. I have been a part of Teach for America since 2012, which has given me the opportunity to teach a diverse range of students. I have worked with students who have learning disabilities and students who are English language learners. My students range in age from primary school up to adults. In addition to teaching, I have spent time working in the editorial departments for several publishing companies. I have worked with W.W. Norton & Company and the New England review. I am also a member of the recruitment team for Teach for America. I received my Bachelor of Arts in English from Middlebury College. During my spare time, I like to enjoy a good cup of coffee, swim, or play with Sampson (my cat).
