As a child, my family frequently relocated. I grew up abroad in countries like Italy and Ecuador, where I was able to develop my language skills and meet new friends from diverse cultures. All this moving taught me how to be personable and how to make new friends. The prospect of new friendships was exciting, and it ignited my thirst for learning new languages.Students today are much the same as I was then, even if they aren't jet-setting around the world. They still need to be engaged in their learning opportunities to make progress. To foster this engagement, I draw on any number of interests and topics. To teach Spanish, Italian, or Architecture, I bring in examples from my own interests. This could be something related to lacrosse, yoga, and running, or it could be related to my bachelor's degree in Interior Design. Interior Design is a wonderful platform for discussion and illustration because every culture sets about managing their personal space in some way, be it traditional or modern.I look forward to the opportunity to apply what I've learned to tutoring new students and helping to clear new pathways to progress.
