Private tutor in Cambridge, MA

Cultural Anthropology major and French minor at Boston University, '13
Experience
- I am passionate about helping students unlock their potential through patient, compassionate one-on-one academic coaching. Through experience (on both sides), I have learned that some students just need a champion to believe in them every step of the way. - City Year Boston corps member, '14; tutored a group of 7 sixth graders during the school day in ELA, every day for one academic year, in a "turn-around" middle school in Dorchester, MA - 2130 in SAT (out of the 2400 scale); although it wasn't counted that year, 11/12 for essay section - AP US History and AP Biology in high school; received a 5 on both tests

Hobbies
- Love to listen to and play music, very athletic (black belt in Taekwondo), like to laugh and be goofy, curious about everything (so if I don't know something, I'll look it up--and I encourage students to do the same. "Not knowing" is where true learning begins) - practice meditation daily, so my style is very patient and compassionate: I will meet my students where they are at and push them to surpass their limits
