Education

Harvard University A.B. Candidate in Sociology, with a secondary in Theater, Dance, and Media GPA: 3.734

Experience

I was a math tutor and a writing center tutor in high school. I received a 2080 on my SAT, a 34 on my ACT, a 720 on my Biology M SAT II, a 740 on my US History SAT II, and a 780 on my Math 2 SAT II. I received a 4 on my AP Biology, AP Chemistry, and AP Statistics exams, and I received a 5 on my AP English Language & Composition, AP US History, AP BC Calculus, and AP US Government & Politics exams. I want to be a tutor because I believe there is no greater work then helping other students succeed. I want to play my part in ensuring the success of future generations. I intend to become a teacher after graduation, and this would be another opportunity for me to work with students and help them grasp complicated material. At Harvard, I have maintained a high GPA while challenging myself in my field of study. I have taken many sociology courses and have done exceedingly well in them, so I have a great knowledge and understanding of social theory and social science research methods. Additionally, I have studied theater and performance, and I have learned a great deal about a variety of techniques used by actors and acting teachers. In high school, I took a total of 7 AP courses, and in all the courses I took never got below an A. I have kept the materials/notes from my high school courses and still have a great grasp on the material. Additionally, I did very well on my standardized tests and AP tests, and would be more than happy to help other students succeed.
