I graduated with my bachelor's degree in Linguistics from Wellesley College, during which I gained more than two years of experience tutoring individuals and teaching groups of students in both the English and Mandarin languages. I spent one entire semester in China, where I took a program that required us to speak nothing but Mandarin throughout out entire time there, whether in class or out. In addition to the instruction I had taken previous to this trip, that provided me with the best opportunity to become fluent in Mandarin. I believe that all students who want to learn a new language fluently have the ability to do so, and with the guidance of a patient and encouraging tutor, they are more likely to achieve success. Because I have faced many of the difficulties that occur while learning a new language, specifically Mandarin, I am able to help students who are going through these same challenges. Outside of languages, I also enjoy drawing, traveling, and reading.
