Experience
I have received a good education, and believe that gives me a duty to help others do the same. I like working with students in individual tutoring, because that is the most effective way to impact their learning experience. I have developed methods of tutoring that help my students achieve success in their academic life, as well as their lives outside of the classroom. I tutor students in a number of subjects, such as history, psychology, writing, Spanish, and others, including some IB and AP subjects. I also have had great success assisting students as they studied for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, or others. My students enjoy learning with me, because I take a holistic approach because I see various subjects like language, culture, and history all twine together to make an interesting narrative. This is more effective, because it's more interesting. By learning subjects within the context of their effect on the world, and more specifically, the student's life, provokes more interest from the student, and thus the information is better learned and retained. I find satisfaction in the success of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy tinkering with computers, reading, hiking, and backpacking.
