Experience
I see many parallels between athletics and academics. Sometimes even star athletes need a personal trainer to give them the one-on-one attention to enable them to truly excel and progress to the next level. This is the kind of service I provide as a tutor. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Goddard University, as well as a Master of Science in Communications with concentrations in Science and Technology from Boston University. In addition to providing me with the mastery required to teach a wide range of subjects, these degrees also taught me how to present complex material in a way that even a novice learner can understand. In terms of teaching experience, I have a teaching certification and have taught General Science for many years at middle schools. I have ample experience teaching students of all ages, including middle school, high school, and college students. My tutoring specialties are English, Reading Comprehension, Writing, and ESL. I have experience teaching those with learning disabilities, as well as ESL students learning to speak English for the first time. One of my most memorable moments in my teaching career was teaching ESL students survival skills in a specialized Red Cross program. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, reading, and playing with my dog.
