Hi! My name is Joel and I graduated from MIT in 2010. I love studying and explaining mathematics. I actually enjoy math SO much, that I dedicated four years to learning all about it. Now I can pass the knowledge on to you! I have designed lesson plans that range from one-day study sessions to long term course help or SAT prep. Before and after each lesson, I ask myself which topics have been difficult for the student and come prepared with a better method to teach and reinforce the ideas. Once a student understand a concept, practice makes perfect! Oftentimes my sessions are problem solving based, where the student will attempt problems while I provide guidance. I can be your tutor for absolutely any mathematics subject, including standardized test prep. For the SAT, I prefer to tutor in the Quantitative section (you might have guessed), though I can tutor for the entire exam as well. I have read numerous study guides for the SAT and am well acquainted with the concepts and strategies that are useful for 700+ scores. I would love to help you with your Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Pre-Calc, Calculus, SAT, ACT, SAT Math I and II, Linear Algebra, Probability, Statistics, Differential Equations. You name it! (I also have professional experience with MATLAB, Python, Excel, and Microsoft Access if you are looking for help there.)

I began traveling when I studied abroad in the UK, and my travels have exploded since then. My last journey was 6 months through South America. I speak some Spanish and enjoy practicing. I also enjoy folk, bluegrass, and many types of music. I have played guitar most of my life and have recently picked up Banjo. And, of course, math!
