Experience
I love helping my communities, and I'm looking to tutoring as a great outlet for helping youth. I've been an Air Force pilot and a college student at Harvard, and understand the importance of organization, discipline, and hard work. This always has helped me find success, and I want to share this with students to help them realize their full academic potential and help them up to opportunities like I've had. When I work with students, rather than lecture or try to get students to memorize information, I instead teach the building blocks and ensure students understand them so they can apply their knowledge to new challenges. When students understand why something is important, they are more likely to understand it and to be motivated to learn more. I can tutor algebra, elementary and middle school math topics, geometry, physics, English grammar and syntax, reading, writing, government, microeconomics, business, and high school and college level physics. I can also help students prepare for the SAT and other standardized exams. When I have some free time, I like to ride my bike, run, read, and volunteer at the community garden. I'm also interested in environmental stewardship.
