Experience
As is probably clear, I offer a wide range of tutoring services. My strengths lie in writing and reading at all levels, although I can tutor math at the elementary level. I also speak Spanish fluently and earned a 5 on the AP Spanish test. For students looking to take the LSAT or GRE, I scored a 172 (out of 180) on the December LSAT, so my skills are fresh and still honed. I can teach you straight forward, overall methods for attacking logic games, arguments, or reading comprehension. I can also offer targeted analysis and tutoring for specific question types or sections. For students in high school, I am an avid reader of English Literature (Great Gatsby, Moby Dick, Shakespeare, etc.) and I love to both write and teach writing. I offer help in high school English/Writing classes, college personal statements, or editing/revising services for any other piece of writing. I would be happy to send you a writing sample as well. Having recently taken the LSAT, a standardized test for law school, I can also offer SAT Verbal skills that are exceptionally sharp, despite having taken the test in 2006. For parents of students in Kindergarten through 8th, I am a certified 2nd grade teacher. I specialize in helping struggling readers and writers. In my classroom last year, my 30 students averaged 1.5 years in reading growth, whereas the average expected growth is typically only 1 year. Students I've tutored personally have grown upwards of 2 years in reading in the course of only a year.
