I scored 2290 on the SAT my junior year of high school and graduated with High Credit from Middlesex School, and independent boarding school located in Concord, MA. I This year, I received Advanced Sophomore Standing because I have finished 25% of my bachelor's degree at MIT. In high school, I was selected by the faculty to tutor Spanish, Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and History. As a junior and senior in high school, I loved mentoring younger students in academics as well as getting adjusted to the high school experience. I truly enjoy working with students regardless of their skill level because I believe that all students are capable of learning material if the tutor is able to successfully connect with the student and be able to explain concepts in several different ways. Additionally, an excellent tutor should be able to learn new material to accommodate her students' needs, a skill I possess. From the summer of 2012 to 2013, I earned an internship position at the Laboratory for Computational Biology and Biophysics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In order to create a program that significantly decrease the time for data collection, I self-studied Matlab - a coding language. In the end, I was successful in increasing the pace of data collection for the lab.

Hobbies
I have been a competitive tennis player since the age of ten and played #2 or 3 doubles and singles for Middlesex School all four years of high school. I am also trained in Kuchipudi, an Indian Classical dance form, for over 12 years. Currently, I am a member of the MIT Bhangra team. This year, I am a Vice Chair for the MIT Model United Nations Conference. In addition, I am a member of the Corporate Relations Committee - the liason between MIT and tech companies to coordinate the well-known MIT Techfair - and THINK committee - a research project competition for high schoolers. I am considering a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Biological Engineering possibly along with a pre-med track. Over this upcoming summer, I hope to participate in MIT's study/work abroad program in India.
