EducationMIT PhD Student in Operations Research, CGPA 5/5; MASc. Industrial Engineering, CGPA 4/4, HBSc Math, Stats, Peace and Conflict Studies, 3.92/4.00.
ExperienceI am a doctoral student at MIT in Operations Research, which is a field that uses math, statistics, computer science and economics to solve problems facing businesses and organizations. In addition to knowing the material I teach very well, I think I am good at coming up with examples and explanations to help students learn, and solving problems on the fly.
I have experience as a graduate teaching assistant at MIT's Business School and at the University of Toronto's Industrial Engineering Department. I have tutored students, mostly at the graduate level, in operations management, statistics, and optimization methods. I can tutor undergraduates and high school students in economics (up to intermediate level, macro and micro), calculus (all levels), probability, game theory, and linear algebra. I can also help with the GRE and GMAT quant sections.
My writing and communication skills are also strong, so I can also assist students with case reports and essays, especially if they are of a technical nature (such as business school cases in operations management or economic analysis).
HobbiesInternational Development, Hiking, Entrepreneurship. I have spent 9 months in Kenya volunteering on various community projects, and enjoy traveling in Central America and Mexico during the Winter as a way to learn Spanish while escaping the cold.
