Thomas C.
Private tutor in Cambridge, MA
Education
I'm currently in my final year of my Ph.D in Hyperbolic Geometry at Boston College. In my time at BC I have spoken at four conferences and authored three academic papers. I earned my BA at Williams College in 2012 where I double majored in Math and Physics.
Experience
I have been the primary instructor for 7 courses at Boston College over the past 4 years. These include Calculus I, Calculus II, Finite Probability, and Statistics for Nursing Students. After completing my degree I plan to teach Math at the college level, largely because I truly enjoy explaining a topic I'm passionate about to anyone who will listen (as I'm sure my friends can attest). Twice I have received the Donald J White award for teaching excellence at Boston College. In addition, I have been a teaching assistant for several other classes at both BC and Williams, and have been tutoring since high school.

Hobbies
In my free time I play ultimate frisbee for a local club team and coach the Boston College men's ultimate team. When possible I love to get outside the city to go skiing or backpacking (my brother through hikes the Appalachian Trail and I often join him for a few weeks). I also volunteer with TOPSoccer, a soccer program for all kids regardless of mental or physical disability.
